This past week I've been walking to work with my backpack fully loaded. My goal is 15pounds of total weight w/pack, sleeping bag, first aid, clothes for 2 months, and an extra pair of shoes. So far it totals 20 pounds.... something has to be left behind.
I am afraid i may have bought too large of backpack. The pack alone weighs over 3 pounds. The whole thing makes me so very aware of our attachment to things and the almost uncontrollable need to have them literally in our possesion.
Well, I will be leaving all but 15 pounds behind and somehow i suspect I'll survive.

Learning to travel light can be challenging but is very do-able. We had to learn to do it when we started riding/taking the Harley on vacation. You can't take everything with you and now it has changed the way I pack, no matter how we travel.
ReplyDeletei remember the first time i traveled with linda. i had this big green suitcase, we called the big green monster.lugging that up and down stairs i soon figured out to pack lighter and linda did most of the lugging because i was sick for a day or two, and she still wants to travel with me. thats friendship right there.
ReplyDeleteBon Voyage Linda! Safe travels and we will look forward to hearing about all of your adventures on this blog. I can't wait for the year that I get to do this pilgrimage.
