As in whether or not my sleeping bag is bug free. I sent it to the dry cleaners and said "muy caliente". So then I went to two different farmacias showed them my arm and they both said the same thing. Allergy. Either to the sun or some insect bites. Neither could say for sure. I bought allergy creme and it helps the swelling and burning. In any case, I've had a nice rest in Leon, but ill be trying to get as far as Villar de Mazarife tomorrow. About 25k. Its supposed to be another hot day so hopefully Ill be there before the afternoon heat.
I found a happening little bar. Bar Madrid. I watched Holland and Uruguay play and drank some decent wine. The bartender was nice and I just told every Guy that sat next to me that I was his(the Barman's) friend. I found a square with a market, bought some cherries, thinking of Carlos, sweetpea would be all over these. Found a table in the shade and am having a glass iof vino for Mr Magoo. Cheers Larry.
Ive decided a few things;
that our country is not the only one with obesity issues. But at least we don't wear those strechy leggins for pants with a tight top to accentuate the "curves".
That Spanish people are not nearly as kind and helpful as French.
That Le Coq Rouge has better food and service than anywhere within 450km at least.
That the dreaded Meseta is hot and dry, but its got nothing over on the Las Vegas desert.
Not all kilometers are created equal.
My plan is still to walk into santiago. So many people have injuries. I now know that sooner or later EVERYONE takes a bus. Really the main thing is to make it to Santiago not kill myself trying. Franck will be there, so by blister by bus or by burrow, I will be there too.
